I'm not really one to decorate for the holidays. We host typically each holiday meetings and to be honest I am quite scroogey throughout the season (I'm only a Christmas service, for a friend who lives in Cincinnati to many years of work for Acoming this year.) This year we will keep a small party, so I'd actually have to dig out my Christmas things. Fortunately my mother loves Christmas, but things, tired, so we have tons of decorations from it. We have no large Christmas tree (and nowhere a set) so I instead two small set:
The first tree is in the dining room. Note the LEGO death start ornament in the front! And why Yes, that's a hot pink Christmas tree with hot pink lights. It is actually on the piano sit (piano is closed, and I almost never quite open.) (It is a blanket, fall to stop scratches)
Yes, it's kind of tacky, but if you can become tacky Christmas, when can you? This is my piano Studio and I don't know my students appreciate the kitschy structure! And in fact little disco balls are collected around the base. Because we live in a Victorian house gift people me often "Victorian Christmas" style things. It's not my style at all, even stuffy and the colors are also dark. It's definitely a constant challenge to decorate the House - the woodwork tends to dominate everything, and I gently be not to go too modern (I love modern furniture, but it looks wrong here... the scale is too small.) My goal is to just my personality shine through it even though it is sometimes quite noisy. It works for me!
To go along with the theme of holiday I am a red dress with vogue 8685 make.
I am a red knit Ponte using, which I bought in mood. To be honest, it is a bit more of a cherry red as I prefer - I with my hair in a very blue tinted red wines collision work. This one is not too bad though, and it will be nice for Christmas! The pattern has a lot of pieces based on the yoke, but it looks not very difficult to make. I have it, cut and ready this week sewing (between the hectic house cleaning - I many who never should have seen my house and I like to get the illusion that I am very good at dusting!)
