My coat collection has reached critical mass.

Coat: Tokyo

Dress:Simplicity 2360, blogged here

Belt:Forever 21

 Tights:Hue

Boots:  Goal

Worn:Take my mother for your birthday Brunch at the Seelbach Hotel Oak Room.

If you ever in Louisville on a Sunday, I recommend the Brunch at the hotel Seelbach.  The Seelbach is a beautiful historic hotel (famous for the Great Gatsby mentioned is.)It's not cheap, but the brunch is totally worth it!  My mother had never been (many times I have classical music with my friends) I wanted to take birthday 55th.

I decided I should make these clothes a second - I get really love this one and I getting positive comments.  I'm an order from fashion Club, planning, substances so I'll try to get something that works. This is a Peachskin and one drapey (but not too bright) fabric works.  I think to try it with a long-sleeved shirt underneath it soon so that I can extend the season.

Marc went yesterday to a Scrabble tournament outside the city (Yes, he competitive Scrabble, play) to entertain me I the thrift stores and target met.At the finish I was able to two items on my list of "must have" for case to meet (I found this list, but I'm cheap enough that it forever it finally takes me!)  I wanted to discourage already a faux Leopard jacket for age and age, but the price of true vintage those me, not to mention the difficulties I always vintage jackets to passen.diesen mantle was on clearance for only $20, so that's something, check out if you also have been missing! It is nice and soft lining and buttons, with a good quality. The only thing I would do as a criticism to say is that it spent all morning nicht.Ich bags to my hands in my pockets in vain jam I guess it is time, to some gloves buy!

I buy boots at target as well.I have a few Brown boots as well as some crunch type boots and this fill both missing.I had to go get to fit 2 sizes (to a size 7) - maybe it's because I wear not thick socks with boots.I would a link to you, but you seem still to the target site.

I had a pretty good day Thrifting I size have some skirts down to shorten and a long J.Jill jacket that be great on clothes. But what I'm really excited? this coat!

It's a size small wool Boucle trench coat from the GAP.Ich have been wanting to join the trench trend, but I'll be honest - camel does not suit me, and I'm not the biggest on waist Riegeln.Dies was, I can do it for five dollars, so if I hate it end, it no real loss gibt.Ich have a ridiculously large coat collection, especially when you consider I perhaps 3 times previously worn can't wait a coat habe.Ich this year, so I work in this one can in the meantime it is colder get for it in my freezer for a bit just in case life (I can not wash it the way I did everything but I am not due to the drying machines for StürzteIch am not really paranoid, but better safe than sorry.)

I worked on my dress - the instructions of the type of that turns me alot of matching squares and circles frustrieren.Hoffentlich, beautiful, and I have a report soon!

And the winner is...Yulie!

I have a saw a long time for a hat that I actually thought looked cute on me.I'll admit if Silvia suggested the Yulie Hat I was originally said skeptisch.Ehrlich, had I never as a beret style as my Stil.Aber I knew from experience that Grumperina Kathy has excellent taste, so I decided to trust.

It turned out, I like this on me.

The front view.

From the back.

Project details:

Pattern: Yulie of Grumperina.

As at all Grumperina pattern, everything is well thought out, and there are very clear directions for everything. This hat is a simple top stitch. If you have YO and two together (knit differently), can this hat easily drippers is not at all obvious tip, if you wear it, but there also robust wants the open stitch, as I a nice drape used.

Yarn: One 225 yd.Strand of Madelinetosh Tosh DK in MOSS and together of the same yarn in graphite.I have enough left over for another two of these hats yarn.

Despite its name DK this yarn is a lightweight worsted weight superwash Merino wolle.Es was a pleasure with the stricken-- very soft and not splitty.Seien warned of blocking, was a fair amount of dye run Off.Ich would hesitate, a light and a dark color yarns in the same garment to combine would this "Hand-colored" applies to almost all type yarn, be no criticism of this one in particular.

Needles: A U.S. size 5 for the ribbing and a US size 7 bamboo circular and bamboo of DPNs for the body of the Hutes.Alle needles stolen from my sister.

It feels really nice to want, again to stricken.Ich a man sock project on the needles have, as well two beautiful Pullover.Oder maybe I'll see a different hat these remains are machen.Wir as we go.

New tandem adventure

Claudia's blog: tandem adventure «Socks in the mail |».MainRandom Friday» New tandem adventure

There are very few things that me happier than a bicycle as a transportation verwenden.Nehmen a bicycle to the farmers market or in the memory or out to lunch or dinner. May remind some of you anywhere resulting logging through 2000 alternative transportation travel between April and September 2008 knitters in my bicycling as transport project.

A major limiting factor in the location, each of our three tandem bikes was used for transport, the sheer valuable-ness of these bikes made us reluctant to lock up and let you while the errand was is reached. So we have used a tandem drive somewhere and where we can keep the tandem food in an outdoor café with us or in sight. But this certainly limits our restaurants in the area of Boston where an outside area might be just too crowded, so right there Park for a big ass tandem.

Our oldest tandem this Ritchey Skyliner is that we as a wedding gift to each other (Awwww!) before twenty years bought. At the time, it was worth more than my 1985 VW Golf.We rode this bike for many years, but eventually it was replaced with newer and faster tandems. for the last years of his sat unused in our shed, while we our fancy orange road tandem or our newer mountain tandem drive.

In Amsterdam, hubby had a brainstorm.Maybe it was useful, this tandem in our "Café bike" rehabilitation and take the risk arising from it locking up, maybe it has stolen if that was the only way that we would get benefit from it.Clearly if the bike could vote, it would be pretty much loved and ridden instead imprisoned in the shed molder.

So, we bought the large lock, you see depend on the rack in the image and took it out for a test session this past weekend.

It was a beautiful day and first we rode in Harvard Square hang out at a Biergarten.Es was difficult to find a bicycle parking spot it (for bicycles yay!) but we found one imprisoned the tandem and weg.Nach went a lovely lunch the Buffalo Burger with Bacon and cheese we came back to find... the tandem still da.Das same scenario was the second beer garden in Boston wiederholt.Ergebnis! sets out that it is riding this tandem to good choice for urban assault.

I just bought a great light for this bike, make it possible to have after-work dinner rides like the sunlight scarce bekommt.Hier is hoping the lot of fall, the horse riding and Restauranting happens!

Rhinebeck 2010

What an interesting time I had this weekend. Until I'm roles in hugs and Hellos, I always forget what it is a pleasure to see so many friends of distant and close that somehow I get never to see a different time or place. And of course, is always a great time hanging out with my sister.

A goat Rhinebeck.

A view relies on Rhinebeck.

But what I me want to write about today is the thoughts I had on the clothing of the festival goers. It is no secret, well-meaning but terrible sweaters and other miscellaneous goods on these shows a/k/a knitter conventions in the Überfluss.Es are knitters submit jumpers, the two sizes and have been knit fit poorly and/or in a form suitable never any body type you have ever had. There are knitters hundreds of dollars bulky weight wear is a multicolored variegated yarn in a garter stitch coat really take. There are knitters dressed head to toe in Exquisit designed goods, but you see freakish instead of fashion.

Its all too easy to judge, and show a little giggle. Not to forget, this is the "Gallery of evil" has been done.Ho hum.

No, what occurred to me, as I was (and I had long since I buy anything that was not to think) is the hiking festival that really suggesting Rhinebeck/Maryland/Estes Park/new going Hampshire similar to a Star Trek Star Wars/sci fi Convention.Anime Convention or any gathering of like-minded people with a fanatical focus on a subculture. What is really the difference between a knitter dressed head to toe in each HANDGESTRICKTER which did last year, and a Star Wars fan like Darth Vader disguised? both people have a great time, reveling in your favorite past-time to win certainly positive attention to the dress effort in one place.

As you say, all good.

Well, maybe there's a Unterschied.Es would be quite impossible for most fans to think disguised as your favorite characters in full hair, makeup and insignia, that this Get-Up acceptable Street. But I suspect it is possible for knitters, kinda way with the beauty get carried their handiwork of and therefore to think that the beautiful scarf worn Grandma style over the shoulders or pink faux-Mohawk Knit Beanie CAP or a striped knit skirt with striped knit cuffs (not suitable) was a good daily fashion choice fool to get.

Maybe, then can make sense for me, an old post revive it, expressing my personal rules of knitting. I understand that this small list has resonance with many knitters in over the years. Please note in particular number one:

Claudia's top ten knitting tips

10. If you measure the length of a knitted element on your lap or on the floor of the passenger's side of a car, not a single second think that this measurement is correct.

9. Beware knits to the specifications published by someone else. No matter how much you love this person.Accept the project take longer than you thought and twice as large a pain in the ass his expected as you.

8. Know what colors you look good and forms to work with your body. Forgive the first sweater project, whose colour or shape you flatter nicht.Machen only a second with the same question.

7. (Demolished in essence from Bonne Marie) If you thing you did just even half suspect for a moment, that is Hinky, it is Hinky.Ripping off or fix. Are not always the way and carry it who think obsolete.you become way. But you won't.

6. If you make a mistake in warp knitting, nobody will die or go to jail. Therefore you are fat! Some design to tweak a pattern, try a new technique.Life is short-time.

5. Never rip out good can come this Mitternacht.Nichts.

4. Baste condemned the sweater pieces together before sewing for real and TRY IT ON!Seriously, why spend hours meticulously mattress that merge your latest project without first make sure that it is the right size?Unless of course, you have all the time in the world and not easy to thwart, or you don't really have die.Recht. size.

3. Rope police are tot.Es no one right way everything in warp knitting tun.Bereiten you enters a finger greeting to those that could be a hard time for something to do your way.

2. Never believe you a gauge swatch. gauge swatches Lüge.Sie * so * tun.bleiben suspicious gauge all the way through the project, but most definitely make you sure to gauge again to look after the first piece is stricken.starten of this process gauge warfare with a sleeve the least painful option.

And...Drum roll please...Claudia's number one knitting's Tip:

(1) If the jumpers on the TJ Maxx would buy ready-made don't have no business that it to knit back from the pattern so no matter how much fun it looks to knit to.

So let out there me klarstellen.Nachdem thinking, get I completely why choose knitwear in Rhinebeck in the presence of the knitters wurde.Aber perhaps could a more rational application of rule number one in order for the other 364 days a year.

Jenny + Mondo

Pattern:Jenny from Burdastyle

Website:Hot pink Houndstooth Doubleknit, 1.5 M

Tights:H & M

Sweater: 525 America (by TJ maax)

   Shoes:  Gianni Binni last season

Notes:  I have my Mondo E Rock, just in time, this evening to see the final completed!  I had before Jenny rock so this project went very smoothly - I just a size smaller than normal, account for the line cut made.  I cut the Federal pieces on the Crossgrain, thus I would all match Houndstooth (although I seam match.)

The rock was reduced by approximately 2 inches and lined with a Catchstitch by hand.  I'm no food - instead a half slip wear.  I was going to row with tricot, but I felt how the tricot was not like stretch as my website and I wanted to consider not to. Slot back because the rock is so flexible.I omitted the zipper, because I in haste was.I do it on, although I confess, that I would really recommend stuck a zipper on these Stil.Ich recommend Jenny-rock in Doubleknit completely make.I know has Burdastyle rock (Melissa?), which is similar to knit one but I think this is better because it has darts. This kind of interlock or Doubleknit skirts are everywhere in this season – I've seen you by Ann Taylor, forever 21.I like you, it is elegant, but get the ease of knit skirt.Remind me of the early 1990s, but oh well - I can again rock! I think it's important not to make one too tight knit rock to avoid, looked like a vintage video Vixen… but maybe that's just me, and some bad memories of Whitesnake videos.

I do not get to see the final time - I have a sample that runs until 9: 00 A.m. and then I have dinner get, but after that my husband and I are going to see it! also my - mixed geometric prints, high waist is great disappointment in this budget when Mondo not win but so or so I think he has a great Zukunft.Es is a long time since I was his favorite things are so excited by a project runway Kandidat.Zugegeben and color!I mean I really liked Seth Aaron who won last season, but the last Designer I remember, really love me Chris March was (who is always his own reality show on Bravo I can't wait!)

Weekend socks

Timing is a wonderful thing.

This week I am, you show that a sock pattern I, published 2010 issue of Canadian living magazine (on newsstands now!) and also generous free on Canadian living online in November. I got my own copy in the mail yesterday and went on to thoroughly geek out about it.I can continue by you are copies in the grocery store Lineup.Heh.

This is a basic, worsted weight sock pattern, to promote a knitters to take the leap into the sock knitting. The advantage with worsted weight socks is being pretty quickly, compared to fingering weight, so even if you only put in an hour or so of knit a few evenings per week, you can progress to lang.Und do if you intimidated about your first pairs of socks, with a little speed your page can be a real boost. I wrote this up for 3 different sizes, so that different types of feet can be accommodated easily!

This also a "learn to make socks" type of pattern to part which involved my assignment a series of photos, along with the pattern, and can follow you see online here in a photo slide show. You can see the sock as it grows, from the leg by the heel turn and a picture of the toe.

But for the Timing…good job, people in Canadian living are responsible for this Dinge.Wenn I write this to a few months ago it was ever not cold enough, wanted to feel, how I want to consider getting to the point to thickness homey socks to wear have around the House Interior or boots.Well, lo and behold, how the kiosks make this pattern, as yesterday the temperatures overnight pretty frosty get started, and this morning after I was the first thing I did pull on my own pair of these. You are wonderful and I say screw slippers.Gravity wool socks for everyone!

My own pair and photographed sample been done until LOUET gems Kammgarn, but a variety of yarns used. I must but say I love this Garn.verbrachte I had not much time with him before, but I feel me pretty confident saying that I spend more time with him in the future wird.Es is soft, is pretty good, and I can throw it when I get into the washing machine, and the colors are gorgeous.

Happy fall knit blog friends!

Leaping llamas

I'm working on my stashly acquisitions still a post (I can even do a short give away), but it turns out, return to normal life takes after a knitterly weekend to feel a few days back to normal. I'm already want, it was the weekend again.

So, for the moment, which I wanted to share with you a video clip I took on Sunday morning, the ' leaping llamas ' show. It's like the horse jump but with Lamas and alpacas. It was fantastic. The littlest of guys had a harder time, once the bar began to rise, but this high were those along zipping. Were all clearly in line with their handler/owners and it was nice to see how sociable these animals really sind.Stellt turns out to have other talents in addition to the manufacture of yarn fibre!

Happy Wednesday! it can be as painless as possible.

Pattern organization

I like to think that I am a very organized person.  I love it, make lists and check things off, and I almost always know where a particular item can be found in the House.  I keep a calendar for my husband's sake… I never check it and I always remember where and when I have to be somewhere.  But since the sew recording, a task completely meâ € ¦ has overcome organization of pattern collection.

I started leadership in Microsoft Excel a list of my patterns, hyperlinking each photo and all information required. After I entered was each pattern in a box with all anderen.Ich my patterns have organised recently, in boxes of companies with a box, the pattern contains the I currently tissue for, and that is nice to work for me (and also assure that I get my pattern cut out early!)

But Excel… was easy for me to work.It decided that it would open only hyperlinks when it was in the same directory as the photos and then I had to format my hard drive and lost open Office sowieso.Ich downloaded my copy of Excel, but it was not better (worse either just not what I wanted.)I thought about using Flickr, but didn't have the features I wanted and I am also a different photo service to pay for, if I already figures to the pictures for my blog host reluctant!

I read on a few blogs about a service called EverNote, and decided to check it out.Es turns out is exactly what I wanted it!

You create notes for each pattern - he even has a plugin for chrome, that allows you to save the information directly from the BMV website for current pattern, clip a lot of work. The patterns are grouped into notebooks - I plan to make one for my fabric stash as well.

It has text recognition, and marked and for each note.

It also works with many Smartphones, including my phone PALM Pre.Es is free up to a certain amount of data transferred and $5 per month anders.Ich really hope that this will be the ultimate solution for my problem! check it out if you're like me, drowning under a sea of unsorted pattern.

(not related etc, only a satisfied customer!)

Staked

I have to tell a theme, and I'm super excited about it. It is my pattern entry for the Indigodragonfly ' smart ass adventure ' single strand yarn Club and I have it in the works for a while. This pattern is currently exclusively for the Club and since may have gotten Club approved your packages not everyone in the Club, I put up this handy photo of Otis, the Indigodragonfly yarns resident dog to a little spoiler space to allow. You can scroll down for the good stuff.

Again at the end of the last winter Kim messaged me (on Twitter, by e-Mail, so currently the need for this discussion was apparently), me questions, if I wanted to be involved in the Association, and of course I took no time to make this decision. Then asked me (I have saved this yet) "How would you design for a lower classes, called ' and then Edward staked Buffy."End?'""And I think I said "I really think I would feel really really good about that."

The lower class name was pretty much everything I needed to go. The pattern "Staked" is the beautiful result:

I love me some twisty cables and I thought you were particularly suitable with the Vampire Slayer thematic Unterschicht.Ich went looking for some nice stabbigen motifs including a more than a little reminiscent of a game by the heart.I love really the kind that puts it in the dark colouring out it has a subtle but dramatic occurs.

The cable on the foot, but eventually reduce further, symmetrically on each foot to reduce only Stockinette (and possibly dust and darkness?) are left behind.

I love Sie.Ich think I have done so far is one my favorite-Muster.Kim's Merino sock 2-ply is a wonderful yarn to work and is also becoming one of my favorite sock yarns.

The only bummer (for you) is that the pattern but not yet available outside of the Association - it will in the spring, and I'll be sure that to inform you when it happens.(If you are interested, registrations are still open for the second half of the Association here.)But I just couldn't resist showing off!

For more information about me this week – some book reviews on the go and are almost never ending PI scarf progress.

Here it work and play and the occasional row or two of stricken.Die fall colors which snuck into the green leaves trees and soon I hope to inspire, to take some new images.

A new jumper: Simplicity 2848

Pattern: Simplicity 2848(folded jumper)

Website:Sophia Doubleknit from fabric.com, 2 meters

Above: really, really old... and for some reason, my husband favorite me's!

Notes:  I have been entering my entire pattern collection in EverNote, and while going through my box simplicity pattern came I on this Jumper.Ich must it bought when I first started, and then, put after I realized that the straight version (I dont care for the front slot or the odd bags.) at all this time I noticed the other photographed jumper - doesn't appeal to me and suddenly I knew what with my gray to make knit Sophia!  Admittedly, I showed a definite lack of originality, because I used the same fabric and color in the photo, but that's ok.

The pieces for this jumper are almost completely different than the other versions - share only the yoke pieces.  I was a little afraid, the fact that a 41? bust alleged finished measurements, but I thought the folds would eat and I was right.I have a size 6 in the yoke and bust, a few changes I transition to an 8 on the hips vorgenommen.zuerst of all, no zipper because I knit a.I faced the feed in a self-service website.  This worked fine, but if I make again I would use a different treatment, panels you are rather thick armholes for that!  I dress 3 inches shorter and I'm not short so that it seems to run a bit longer than the photos show would.

This is the first of two clothes I made fabric last another of this (the teal is!)I'll show you in a few days.It was very nice to work with and it is very soft and pretty easy for a Doubleknit.I would recommend it highly. You can find many places, look for the label "Sophia knit."I am really happy that I see Doubleknit and Ponte everywhere this season clothes I love working with the material, and I feel like I'm in style (and frankly, the price of a simple, unlined Ponte dress me shocked!)

This pattern is also strongly recommended though I confess that I do not use springen.Habe directions much, even for a project runway model, so it bothers. I am not sure how this would work in a woven not, but it is a versatile piece is perfect for Doubleknit.Es you (or at least I will scare once it up some more tops, working on it!)

Now or never

So, I have bent was about my Elizabeth Zimmerman books for what seems like forever. (For real - it took sleeping cat or bathing reading a while where you were.) It's sort of like knitting without actually do all knitting.) About a month and a half ago I finally caved and began a PI scarf, because I all sorts of colored yarn kicking had something to start, and I could not bear, waiting it out more. It meets, if slower, now, I round on the longest that are over 500 sts.

The other project I was desire is the fair Isle sweaters, paired with statements in the book knitting around. I have also the yarn to occur, and knew that just out that I want to be me a Cardigan (Steeking involved, but of course! mmm, delicious Steeks), but have been stalling due to other projects. So I told myself I would start in November, and gives me a month.Tons of Kntitters select November as "National sweater knitting month" or NaSweKniMo, a la "National Novel Writing Month" NaNoWriMo.manchmal is the deadline for the things that is done.

I got it right on November 1st, but November was good 3rd good enough and I am a few inches into the body beginnen.Es is a lot of Stockinette directly at first, which is a bit difficult to interesting to keep, but on the other hand it's good because this a bit of time gives me, find, I click on the yoked exactly what colors will use some stalling.I have not settled only still many ways on the specific order yet.

I love stricken.Sie decisions are never short of fun, I tell you.

A few others on Twitter are together with their own Elizabeth Zimmerman project following for the month November - come if you want to join! we use the Hashtag # EZnovember and are exclusively on our own whims, otherwise.

Happy knitting this weekend!

The 2 hour dress (vogue 8663)

fabric: dark teal RPL knit by JoAnn Notes: I want to intersperse intensive projects (like the Michael Kors dress, the I just) with really easy so I don't get burned out.  This is a very simple very vogue patterns, and it will fit the Bill!   I actually few changes caused the dress to be even easier, and it took only 2 hours from cutting to stop.  First, I eliminated the zipper and cut back on the fold.  As I've said before, I usually like zippers in rope.  The pattern for the use of named prepared bias tape to the neckline.  Why question I you?  It wouldn't be nice and it would prevent the neckline to go over your head, causing the zip is actually needed!  I just turned under the seam allowance and topstitched, which was fine. This stuff is a bit easier, and I think the dress would be nicer weighty knit in a little more, but it is what I had.  Well hang!  I plan to it to how a tunic carry most of the time so that it only properly cut is restricted.  I wore this morning to play it, but I love it with the boots.  It's really not much to say - was this pattern simple and highly recommended!

Book review: Stitch n' bitch superstar knitting

Spoiler alert: I think this book is awesome.

I took the knitting not long after the first stitch n' bitch guide was released, so all my knitting life in the modern landscape that contains this set of books. Knitters have no shortage of opinions about something that Debbie Stoller address directly in their introduction to this new addition to the series. Many people respond to the highly modernized and youth insignia of crafts, as shown in these manuals, others you as a revival gefeiert.Und I do not know whether it is possible to say whether the stitch n' bitch books were responsible for the resurgence in the popular profile of knitting in the last ten years, but certainly the books have it happened.

To be honest, I've been a little ambivalent about the series me. I knitted, but never spent much time with you a thing or two from the earlier volumes, because after my knitting aspirations to things like cable design socks and color work and so forth, it was not so much in the early books to tempt me. However, I still refer to the original stitch n' bitch as a solid source of General knitting technological know-how, in particular for new knitters. These are not only pattern Bücher.Wenn you looking for a solid, non-Web-based, can-read-it-whenever-wherever-you-want set of pages on basic knitting are steps and wants to pay a fortune for it, it is a pretty good option. This is essentially how feel I me about this latest volume stitch n' bitch superstar knitting, but up applied to the advanced techniques - such as cable, colour work, beading, inlays, lace, Bobbles, and more.

Exclude for example Steeks.(You know when to purpose zerschnitten.Wenn Steeking is new for you and need you your knitting, to go ahead and I wait look that will take up to check word.) I have the chance to teach a few local Steeking classes, and it's a pretty fun and empowering thing to know how to do. I it I use swatches teach people have practice cut 3 ways of strengthening Steeks (or un gain, as the case may be) and talk about that makes difference fiber content.

And then, in the end, I references people to a collection of about eleventy thousand books, manuals, Web tutorials and video clips where you for further assistance. It is not that any of these things wrong is it only, it is rare to find a comprehensive set of this information in the same location. This is partly because different sources tend to choose a specific focus, and others like you are obvious gaps. This is also because knitting as a collection of know, constantly changing, which is why not for decades old knitting manuals that tell you how to do things like a crochet residential reinforcement.

Stitch n' bitch superstar knitting, dare I say, makes a pretty good attempt is a comprehensive technical guide for many many different skills. When I got my review copy of this, I saw you and I had some expectations, but the more I flipped it kept thinking "You know this is a really good book." And when I dropped the local yarn shop and Bridget was saw it and the same gesagt.Nicht only it covers many advanced techniques, but it covers one well in comfortable and accessible language.

It does not explain how, but is cable without a cable needle to see the new enough not to in printed books some cable as you.It explains inlays and how to work with different colors while working flat or in the round, and doing a thorough job at this, I might actually consider knitting something in Intarsien.Und then because all the technical stuff is not enough, it goes on to a section explaining pattern design and basic design elements - again, something hard to find that, accessible support sources for can - and then all practicing you learned a collection of patterns.

The patterns are considerable. It I love admits that a lot of jumpers, see, as well as gloves, socks and bags - even a dog Mantel.Alle use a variety of accessories projects one or more of the skills that technical gerichtet.Ich think the section it is worth a flip through – it is likely some of the patterns depends on your personal taste, but there is incredible variety and most of the patterns are worked in yarns that are widely available.

This is a super Buch.Es is nice on the side of knitting, knowledge, skills and encouragement, and I can get behind all these things.

What I wore, Wednesday

It was a fairly grueling week-I have only two days of photos!

Thursday

Cardigan:Old Navy

Dress:Tokyo, thrifted and repairs Boots:Impo

I had to repair this dress, is a more secure closure on the inside umbrochen.Auch there so, I felt like it was going to open all day (reason # 1, which I break not styles.) comeI'm not a big fan of wrap styles on me, but I like this because it is really high-waisted - tie almost at the empire waist.

Sunday

Dress: Vogue 8663

Boots: Impo

You have already seen because I This dress just, but here is a close-up!

 Monday

 Rock: Thrifted and remodeling

 Shirt: American Eagle Outfitters (thrifted)

Boots: Kensie girl

I love this rock - I see that although I mean many pencil skirts, full rock collection very summer is concentrated.

Tuesday

Cardigan: Old Navy

Rock: Thrifted and remodeling

Boots: Crocs

The boots are because it was raining - not a good option otherwise!Actually we had a tornado warning the caused me great inconvenience of the cellar to doors in the open air. Also which provides how it out I'm more afraid of hanging out there from me.I never imagine that some creepy person there below will have taken refuge with our lawn mowers and leftover doors and tiles from renovations.I shortened and took in this rock, made a really pretty Cotton satin and complete. It is not yet on my waist, what I wanted, but I had to install a new, longer zipper if I able to it smaller and still get it on my hips want.

Wednesday

 Dress:Vogue 8593

Shoes:Sofft

Necklace:I think vintage Avon, containing the medallion at the same time a solid perfume.

As you can see from the light, it was a beautiful day today! I decided to take advantage of not having to wear tights and try to some gel to buy insoles for you and you had to appear in these shoes to brechen.Ich to helfen.Ich think I find peep toe shoes inherently nasty sein.Ich had worn this dress, since the first day the I it done, and when I it clearly, I was on me dissatisfied with the Saum.Ich a hand did hem stitch catch, and in this matter it was love tend to stretch. Moreover, not I the length, which not long and short war.Es turns out, I like my winter summer skirts shorter (and this is especially a winter dress with tights worn to.)So I shortened from two inches and a simple machine has stitched hem - much nicer! this shoes make me really tall…I'm no slouch anyway, but push me a choir sample had up to 6 Groß.Ich and I felt like a giant compared to all other ladies (and some men!)

I was 5'2? when I graduated from high school, and it managed to grow during my sophomore year in college - another six inch is so strange? sometimes I still think I'm short, but it turns out that I am not.

I finished my Mondo rock and it's ready to wear tomorrow! I will then post about it because I can't wait to share the huge Houndstooth awesomeness!

A story

On Monday morning, my sister Silvia and I had gotten up way before sunrise, the drive from Sonoma County San Francisco Airport start standby mode sitting 6: 00 pm-making flight. The gate was crowded with people even at this early hour. Displays the standby list and number of available seats saw crushingly disappointing.

I am bad at math, but even * I * could figure that I was nowhere near always on.

This flight links without me as the next one.

So, we pushed through the gate where the next flight was abandoned.Later I started once again saw numbers bad., the less likely it was that I could make the connection in Atlanta for Boston thereafter.

Boarding began the lucky people with tickets.Soon everyone at the gate on the flight except for the suffering, hapless, suspends was.

SIL and I thumb our.

The gate agent started paging three people to our gateway to zeigen.Seine messages grew increasingly anxious and mischief. Finally he announced "last call or we give your seats are" I hung on the edge of my uncomfortable Chair.

Three seats.

The gate agent gave the nod a mother son couple and the pier ran you happily.

A seat.

SIL bent before me and said: "If you name your name there above, and I'll be behind you with your pocket."I all mean to cross fingers and toes and ask me the universe at this level.

The gate agent my name.

I screw out of my seat and run up to him, standby ticket prints a boarding ausgestreckt.Er quickly, it me hands and told me to ausführen.SIL hands me my bag and I sprint down the pier during the door closed behind me slam to hear the minute I give on the plane you Castle you the door.

Victory is me!

SIL called me later, you tell me the moments after the door behind my sprinting ACE, shut down, sorry party-of-three to the gate ran barefoot, until late, keep your Schuhe.Zu Saugnäpfe.Eine airplane door opens for nobody.

Travel summary: I have the last seat of BOS to support SLC very last seat of SLC, SFO and (of course) the last seat from SFO, ATLOffenbar wanted to go the universe and my friend through a difficult period.

Thanks, universe.

November plans pt 1

Sorry for the days of radio silence - we had a fabulous Halloween weekend (but, unfortunately, no costumes) and I was hardly home!  Of course, I have touched on my sewing machine, but I think and plan some upcoming projects were. The first is a project that will inspire me ever easy, but it needs to be done.

I showed pictures of the dress for my Chamber Ensemble I wear before a few Wochen.Aktualisieren your memories, it is here:

What is that?  Sorry, I was just asleep with boredom on this dress!  I've worn it a few times since the photo and it is not to improve my assessment.  I dont is care for the frills - a little on the side in order, but I think this one adds bulk to the hips (who wants that?)  I don't think it is the greatest form on me, but I usually hate the length.I am not usually just below the knee, but the proportions on this one it can nicht.Ich function to shorten and continue to use it for my group - classical music is kind of inherently conservative, and we are required to keep the border below the knee.  So here's what I have to do: the dress to shorten and use it as a LBD and make me a new black dress for the ensemble.

I have 2 weeks before my next concert that should make much time.  Here is what I want: below knee, full skirt, some sort of pod (even caps sleeves are fine) and a knit (for ease travel and the ability to properly breaths take.)An empire waist would be a good idea, because, which allows for room to breathe, without worrying that it looks strange out.  No belt, certainly (I actually to remove belt for sample at any time, but I wear them anyway!)  I want to go with the shoes i above are those wearing m how standing my most comfortable for a long time.

I'm leaning towards this vogue DKNY pattern.I plan on it so the fit is not a problem, and it has me kind of a pain to make it both an empire waist and the length I remember brauche.Ich but at least it was fast!I think this style has an elegance that is good for the stage.

I've looked at a few other patterns, but I hate that much time into this project, so I think, is with a dress that I previously is the best Option.Nein, ask me why I just my dress to start with make!

I have placed this week an order online fabric, enthält.Hoffentlich knit some black ITY will I get it before the weekend so I it a sewing can. later today (hopefully) the rest which my November plans, sew come including a few retail knock-offs!

The hubby and I went to see this last the rush concert Tuesday night and for some odd reason I chose, on all cameras to bringen.Wir walk from our secret enjoyed a thoroughly lovely sunset parking show when I decided to see if my phone has a camera (it does), and if I could find out out (affirmative) use.

The show was great. We hadn't seen this band since run... 1992 swallow. Not just seems like so long ago.

California time

Last week found me and hubby in the beautiful Sonoma County with my sister and my mother to visit.I recently purchased a new NetBook (an Asus Eee..)(I love saying "Eeeee!")and I discovered that I had missed my blog publishing page to bookmark.

So, no on-the-go blogging.

There are many horse riding to mountain (, which is San Francisco in the background see when you click embiggen) what eatin good for many ' formed.

But the most important news that I wanted to share with you is that after more than a year the missing knitting Mojo.... I actually wollte.Seltsam knit enough, this feeling about me came after I had deliberately chosen to bring with me on a single knitting project to California. After all, I brought a sock, Rhinebeck and not even bring it.So I could forgive think lost all hope went and I should use my carryon bag space for items I would actually use.

So this feeling that I wanted to knit on me at a wet came rainy day shortly after we angekommen. My was kind enough to head to me by the flood of the local hubby after a hearty breakfast at a nearby restaurant still windy.

But what you do?Silvia had previously pointed out Grumperina's Yulie Hat as very cute and stecken.Ich had in my head that have long searched for the perfect hat, and maybe it was.

I ended up with two colors of Madelinetosh "Tosh DK" (superwash Merino) in MOSS and I brought these graphit. So back to the House some needles from my sister stole and immediately post.

Yesterday on the plane ride home I it until the Crown Gestaltung. So far it suits me and is very pretty.

The return of knitting Mojo.Hier to stay?

We'll see, won't we.

Rhine-th

I think that for the first time I was not overwhelmed by the big ness of Rhinebeck. I was planning to have a nice time and hang out with some awesome Kntters and buy some beautiful things along the way, and that's what I did. I drove down with a big van load of Canadian knitters and stayed with a House load of American ones. It has been crazy a weekend of yarn-related and collect in a good way.

Ann, who bought a fleece in Rhinebeck last Yes R, wore the sweater had knitted from the yarn you had spun from the fleece gekauft.Ich think Rhinebeck last year, she won.

But then Stacey (new curly-haired sister friend) also wins because you broke your foot last Wednesday and still came.Elspeth made sure you got your scooter.Pretty was slick, compact around the Fairgrounds in style.

Today I ended up meeting with Sandi mittags.Sie had the garlic dog I had deep fried mushrooms.

We looked at spindles and fibre, some fibre you wore on your head like a Crown, you know how to do.

The sheep, goats) were Schafige (and goaty?)…

Emily bought their body weight in Briar Rose yarn…

We went to the ravelry Meetup and the Internet came to life before my eyes, and Gwen received their first ravelry key...

A few of us bloggers/ravelry played bingo…

Jo bought all the spinning fibers

There were relating to yarn thing-s, not yarn…

Because I was there for 2 days and not only 1 of this time, there was even a little time to sit and knitting…

And then it was vorbei.Danke, Rhinebeck!
